My father left the family farm in Oklahoma to become a barber in Cordell, OK in 1921. He moved to Seattle in November 1941, just in time for WWII to start and upset my mother.
I was born in W. Seattle during the war and resided there during my formative years, (except 1946-1952 ask me about that).
In 1957, (at the young age of 14), I started Barber School at Folk's Barber College in Seattle. I went to Barber School five nights a week after regular school. On Saturdays I shined shoes in my Dad's Barber Shop.
In May of 1959 I received my Washington State Master Barbers License and began my official Barbering Career.
Upon graduation from High School I attended Washington State University and worked there, in an on campus Barber Shop, for five years while going to school. After graduation from WSU I served in the Coast Guard Reserves, worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Beauty Products Industry, Construction Equipment Industry and finally in the Elevator Industry before retiring in 2008. If this sounds confusing come on in and lets talk.
I have keep up my skills over the years and I'm now enjoying returning to the "Barber Business" on a part time basis.
